Voted audience favorite at the 2024 Asheville Fringe Festival, Found Creature brings their trans-centric sci-fi folk opera back to AVL! A young space trucker & oddly self-aware bio-computer confront each other while stranded in the void. Live original music, movement, and spoken word weave through a narrative about isolation, identity, and interdependence. Can we connect across distance & difference? Are we ever really alone?

• Found Creature is a trans performance duo that strives to tell queer stories in unconventional places. The pair consists of Theo Leverenz (they/he), an interdisciplinary artist and Charlotte Grey (she/her), a performer, musician, and songwriter. FC formed in Milwaukee, WI in 2023 and is currently located in Saint Paul, MN. Two Stars in the Vast Dark, the duo’s first major collaboration, has garnered attention and awards at multiple Fringe Festivals in ‘23/‘24. Charlotte and Theo hope that through Found Creature, you might find connection in unexpected places and meet yourself in shapes new and yet familiar

King Arthur’s Body

Also a sell-out at Asheville Fringe Arts Festival 2024 the mostly local cast of King Arthur’s Body is back together again. The young King Arthur is ready for a wizardly lesson in the Erotic Arts. Buoyed by Merlin’s teachings, he pulls Excalibur from the stone, marries the powerful Lady Guinevere, and presides over the Knights of the Round Table. Lancelot, his closest friend and Knight, may just be more than a manly object to drool over.

• Written by Mountaine Jonas. Mountaine is a queer playback theatre trainer and actor, honoring true stories through improv. He has been working and playing with Merlin for many years. They’ve made over 40 youtube videos, and they love to bring wiseass wisecracking wise wizardry to kids at Mission Hospital!
• Directed by Vinny Vignette Bonanno. Vinny Vignette produces events all over town, including the annual Hauntville, and the West Asheville Tailgate Market. He makes games for communication and offers Make It Happen workshops and coaching.
